they're bound to get tired eventually. ice it, and maybe take an ibuprofin to reduce swelling. :) but if it's not actually painful, it's probably fine. mine get like that after hiking, and i still hike plenty. :p
knees are tricky. IME there's not a lot doctors can do about most knee complaints. it would have hurt a LOT if you'd injured your cartilage or ligaments(i've done both), so my bet is still on "overworked". but hopefully the doc will hear your concern and give you some advice on keeping your knees in dancing shape. good luck!
