Appearance: Being a teenage girl of small stature, Emi's height just barely hits 5' with a matching light weight. Despite her height and thin build, she carries herself in a very dignified manner, and her proportions are exactly where they need to be at her age. Her skin is a pretty average shade and she has no real marks or scars on her body that are noticeable enough to mention, though she does have two piercings in each ear for dangly accessories. Her hair is a naturally a light carrot orange, but she maintains bittersweet lowlights to give it a warmer look. It has natural loose waves and is grown past her shoulders, but she usually keeps it braided and rolled into a tight bun against the right side of her head. And she typically has some sort of ribbon braided in her hair that matches her outfit for the day. Though, when she's feeling a bit more lazy or when she's just relaxing back in the dorm she'll just keep it in loose low pigtails.
Her eyes are merely a dark gray to go along with this. Nothing really special about them. However, she doesn't feel they need to be. She believes she's cute enough anyway and will emphasize this further by wearing some lightly colored lipgloss and a bit of eyeliner. When it comes to her uniform, she's prefers white blouses that have a slightly puffy short sleeve in the summer and a fitted black sweater over this in the winter. Also, while she has no problem wearing a skirt in the summer, she always has a gray pair of pants to wear any other season. They're not baggy, but they are straight and loose fitting to fit a stylish business look. The shoes she wears with this are always some sort of black flat. The blue ribbon she's required to wear is always a perfectly neat and perfect looking bow with the outfit regardless of the time of year.
As far as outfits go outside of class, she sticks to the same stylish look. Up kept and not too frilly, but still very feminine. The main difference is that she loves playing with different colors.
Personality: Emi has a very clear cut personality for a person in her age group. In a nutshell, she's basically like an moody small puppy. She might seem cute and her bite won't really do much damaged, but she won't hesitate to bark as much and as loudly as she can when something upsets her. She's overcritical of others and far more serious than any girl her age should be. She often finds it difficult to make friends with any of her peers, because she expects too much from them and sometimes comes off as if she's trying to find faults in others. She's a demanding and fussy girl with high standards that will accept nothing less from others or herself. If anyone doesn't meet her expectations she'll let them know in a hurtful verbal spiel and quickly drop that person from the list of potential friends. However, in her opinion she doesn't need them. The only time she really bothers with them is when she needs to use them for something.
The girl likes to think she's far too mature for them anyway, but there's obviously a lot of immaturity in just that belief alone. If that's not enough to prove her immaturity, then her mouth and attitude towards others would make it clear. If she doesn't like something about you or what you're doing, she'll let you know faster than a grumpy nagging grandmother. Her attitude towards her elders isn't really that much different. Since she believes she's more on the level of people twice her age, she'll address them with no more respect than she'd give anyone else she thought of as her equal. So, she won't hesitate to shoot them down or at least correct them when they need correcting either. This has gotten her in trouble before, but oh well.
As if it isn't obvious, the outward strength in her personality is a bit of a cover-up for her actual inner fears and insecurities, but she wouldn't dare to so much as give anyone a hint of that truth. And the girl does have some bright points! She is capable of being nice to people, but that person would have to gain her respect first. That's much easier said than done. Also, she actually does have some notable talents. She has a decent singing voice and is surprisingly good with plants, but both of those abilities go largely wasted since it is rare she makes use of them. Of course, given her background she is also quite the make-up artist. She has been known to give rather good looking make-overs to others, but not without terrible criticism.
History: For someone who thinks so highly of herself, Emi's history is actually nothing extraordinary. She was brought up in a rather well-to-do New York family that inherited all of its money from her grandmother's cosmetics company when ownership of said company was passed on to her mother. Her father's side of the family was also well off from a prosperous furniture company, but he was always basically a stay at home dad since that had actually been sold off a number of years ago. It was almost an odd couple, being one made up of a playful trophy husband and a beautiful, yet fierce, wife. Regardless, they got along well and were quite the impressive pair.
Being an only child, her parents obviously thought the world of her. Over the years, they built in her a shameless sense of superiority that only really led to troubles when she got into elementary school. They had raised her to act mature and responsible like any adult would and, thinking of herself as a little lady, she never really clicked well with the rest of her peers. She didn't want to run around and play tag, she didn't want to bother playing with messy playdough, and lord knew she wasn't going to go play in the mud on rainy days. That may have messed up her clothes or shoes! Other times she refused to participate in games just to avoid something that scared her. She never cared for spiders, so she wouldn't even think of crawling under the sliding board for a card game. She was open to dressing up and having tea parties with the other kids, but her strong demand for control and perfection caused others to avoid her in those cases. One thing only led to another and in the end Emi became one of those kids constantly turning her nose up at everyone and everything. They were all childish and she just couldn't enjoy anything they were doing without making it known that she was not amused. The more she complained to them or about the, the more she was left out of activities.
The older she got, the more it seemed like things should've balanced out somewhere, but that just never happened. No matter how many years passed, her views of the others kids were always the same. They were older, sure, but they were still the same immature dummies she had grown up with. It almost seemed to her as if the older they got, the stupider they became. However, Emi found herself pulled out of her former group of peers after middle school ended. Being a girl who actually came from a long line of strong women, she was enrolled in Adessi Hall as somewhere in the timeline it had become a family tradition. She was excited and optimistic about meeting others who were more like herself and hopefully more mature. It was only natural that she was rather disappointed to find that students were pretty much the same irritating creatures as everywhere else.
Now a sophomore at the private school, she is doing her best to get by with straight A's. The closest thing she has formed to friendships were frienemies. People try to tolerate her, but she is the critical snob that she has always been.
