You've got questions, there will be answers. Ask whatever you're confused about here.

1. So. An Alternate Universe, huh? How does this work out...?
Characters are pulled from their own universe and tugged from their canon, meaning that, despite being pulled into a new universe and world that they're unfamiliar with, they retain all memories of their friends and relationships from where they are from. Silent Hill does not steal memories or the like.

It has pulled a character there for a specific reason and, what that reason is, is totally unknown to that person. It could be because there's something in the town that was calling to them, they feel guilty for something, or for any kind of reason.

Silent Hill lives to torture a person.

2. Since the application didn't ask for any when I applied, how will canon points work out?
Canon points work as in you can pull the character from any point in their canon history -- though it is highly recommended to apply for them up to the most recent even that has happened to them (i.e. if it's a completed series? It's advised to apply for them AFTER the end of it).

But it's not discouraged to pull them from any other point of time. It helps spice things up a little, don't you think~?

3. All right. So, does the character have to give anything up on arrival?
Yes and no.

As mentioned before, there's a reason the town dragged that person into its universe but they don't have to give up anything because the town will take it from them on its own. Why? Because it doesn't want anyone leaving.

If they can leave, then there would be no fun for the town to have.

4. What is it the town takes?
Part of a person's soul. By doing that, it can justify that no one will try to escape at all. Especially through the means of death.

5. How does Death work in the town?
Technically, no one can actually "die" in Silent Hill. But everything about that can be read right here.

6. Okay. Monsters. Wanna tell us about the monsters?
Sure.

Since not everyone will be seeing the same monsters or, depending on how 'pure' of a person the character is, they will not see ANY monsters. A good example of a person who does not see the monsters in the town would be Laura from Silent Hill 2.

But~ To each person, a monster will look different. If someone is in a group and they attack what THEY see as a monster, other people may or may not see the same thing. Some people may not see anything, others may see something completely normal. Someone else could see the possible 'monster' as well. If it's a mutated dog? What if someone doesn't SEE the dog as mutated, but as completely normal?

Anything is possible in the town, especially when the creatures that live in the fog are concerned.

7. Exploring is allowed, isn't it?
Of course it is! What kind of fun would Silent Hill be if no one got to explore the town?

Check out the hospital, look through the old school, go to the park. Do whatever it is you want. Everyone is stuck there so...they might as well make the best of it as they can.

8. Are monster-free areas available?
Yes they are. But they're very rare to find. If someone actually happens upon a safe-area then good for them! It would be recommended to share that information for other people, especially if said area is something akin to a house and such.

The more people a person can help out, the better their chances are of survival in Silent Hill.

Also, going days on end without clean clothes or bathing WILL take a toll on people. So will not eating. Be careful.

9. What's the reason behind all of this?
That's a secret.

But clues will point to a Cult. The question is: Is that the REAL truth?

10. In the video games there are sirens. What do they mean here?
The sirens are a warning call to everyone. It means that the town is going to be covered in a "darkness" and become the "Otherworld." The town goes under a change -- the entire town. It doesn't matter where a person is, they will see that change.

It will go from the normal, foggy town to something more sinister looking. Something far more scary.

The monsters in this "Otherworld" are also more aggressive. They will attack without any sort of mercy. Bloodlust is quite common in the darkness.

11. Anything else about the sirens?
Yes, there is. The darkness will last for about a week in real time and will be announced in the OOC.

Via mod-approval, sometimes when the Sirens go off certain people from certain fandoms might see things. Like an alternate look of their home. Only more Silent Hill-fied.

More rundown, more destroyed. More death and fog and darkness. Such things that could, possibly, drive a person mad...well, that is, as long as the town had not done so already.
