Unisex Bathrooms

Today, I went to the National Women's Studies Conference with the Florida Review people. On the way to lunch I see by the men's room a sign that says something like "Unsex Bathrooms: No more Gender Divisions." This was only on the men's side of the bathrooms. well i know i'd be a lot happier if i didn't have to watch myself go pee. I think it has to do more with the knowledge of what it smells and feels like, both of which are kind of gross.

If i had gone to the converence, i would have put the same sign on the women's bathroom and gone in. If they yelled at me i woulda called them hypocrites, knowing full well that the ones in there likely aren't the ones that put up the sign and that i'm just making a complete ass of myself.

Although, if it was mostly women there, they might just have needed the extra bathroom.

I used a unisex bathroom in Hungary last summer. It's not a huge big deal, but there is something slightly unnerving about trying to pee while there is a member of the opposite sex in the stall beside you. I think that the bathroom is one of those places where privacy is nice, especially from members of the opposite sex.
