there's been so many firsts,
but i'm afraid of the lasts.
afraid of not being able to hold on to them.

i like to believe that i'll never get over you.
but i will.
sometimes it's just so hard to see that.
& i suppose, honestly, that a part of me will always
refuse to let go.

i wish it was easier, but at the same time, it shouldn't be.
