&hearts beautiful! I love how this all takes place under the slightly strange feel of the eclipse, and oh, Ianto. The segment with him and Jack gave me shivers.
Oh god! This was so beautiful! Jack's text message: "Do I need to apologize". Aww!
“Well... I say that... If you felt like visiting Western Europe next year at all then you’d be likely to see it again. And perhaps a couple of years after, when it’s over Britain again. But you know what I mean.”
I didn't get this part ... do you mean to say Britain isn't in Western Europe? I might be completely off, and tired and all, you know. Just got curious.
I second the beautiful thing - this whole jounral is fantastic :-)
As to the Western Europe query, a lot of Brits (myself included) unconciously refer to Britain as being seperate from Europe, partly because we're an island and partly because it's tradition. Screwy, since the rest of the world (and the rest of Europe) considers us part of Europe even though we're not on the mainland. Hope that helps. :-)
I can't believe I didn't even think of that *smacks head* In school we are learning about Britain's relationship to Europe and the European Union right now: "The Reluctant Bride". I'm in fact going to write an essay about it. Can I ask you why Britian joined the EU, if not wanting to take much part (I know the French president vetoed twice against British entry, so you always wanted to join)? Do you know what the general public's opinion is on the EU? Would you want to leave/still be a part? If anything, I can use it in my essay :P
I am Norwegian, so we are not a part of the union, which is why I think I find this so particularly interesting. I think the main reason we're not in is because wanting to protecting our agriculture and fisheries (pure protectionism) ...
