Big Sur Marathon training - Week #9,10,11

Phew, there was nothing much to update, except for that 2 weeks ago I got shit scared about doing 26 miles, when I realized that the D-Day is in a month, and the max I've done is 7-8 miles. Put my head down, and did a couple of 6 milers, before jumping to a 12 miler last weekend, and a 15 miler this weekend. So far so good, and a decent pace too ( Read more... )

Whew! That's a lot of running. Wonder how you look, after all this exercise :-). Have you lost all your baby-fat-cheeks ;-)?

Man, I ran in the rain today, and how do you guys survive at all in the Seattle type weather in England? Sucks big time dude. Are there any runners at all from that country (except Paula Radcliffe, of course :))

Dude, don't insult England. England's weather is way worse than Seattle's! You should listen to people here moan about it. It's the preferred way to strike up a conversation with that cute stranger on the train, too :-).

Most of the English have developed an allergic reaction to the weather. They start moaning and then they forget all about it and continue with whatever they were doing. Else, they wouldn't be doing much at all!

And yes, these guys run a lot. My office-mate runs marathons on a six-monthly basis.

This sounds like how it works in offices, where everybody cribs about work :) .. and then end up bonding well.
