Michael Childers, who portrayed Reverend O'Connor, was actually the son of a real life snake preacher.

Thank you for this! I always wondered if he had personal experience in the area because he seemed so thoroughly authentic!

Bell "wanted the snake church people to end up being the good guys."

I haven't seen the ep in a long time, but I remember I loved that twist. This ep could not be made today. The hatred for Christianity - of all sorts, not just the ones with odd or "extreme" practices - is too prevalent. Wow. How far we've come in what is really a short period of time.
