i'm so sorry but i love you,
it was all a lie.

Jonghyun lies, all the time. Jonghyun lies so much sometimes Jinki isn't even sure how to tell the truths apart from the untruths, whether the glint in Jonghyun's eyes is one of sincerity or of guilt.
"I love you," Jonghyun says quietly, and Jinki squeezes his eyes shut, a shield from the world and its heartbreaking realities.
Usually Jinki pretends to still be sleeping, usually Jinki doesn't move or show any sign of acknowledgement that he has heard Jonghyun. Today he thinks about the way Jonghyun's fingers skimmed across Taemin's collarbone, the shine in Jonghyun's eyes when he let his hands linger on Minho's hips for way too long, the quirk of Jonghyun's smile when he turned around and caught Kibum staring at him, the harshness of Jonghyun's voice when he rebukes Jinki for dancing the wrong step.
"Liar," Jinki answers, then curls into a ball and turns away from Jonghyun.
