orchestrated swit-swapping.

sometime in the past week, elisabeth & i started talking about playlists, & i was shocked, horrified, bowled over etc. to realize that i don't have a "songs to make out to" playlist. AT ALL.

suggestions, please? & thank you.

my make out list would consist of things that OTHER boys were playing when we were making out. NOT what i chose. and not necessarily what they chose...

here is the list (of what i can remember):

- sigur ros
- appleseed cast
- texas is the reason
- death cab for cutie
- calexico
- iron and wine
- nick drake
- dave matthews

god why am i posting this. this is embarrassing. boys suck for makeout music. one of the best albums I EVER played for a boy, was:

lovage - songs to make love by your old lady by

it's mike patton collabering with dan the automator (from handsome boy modeling school). anyway, the whole concept of the album is sex. it's pretty sultry. even though it's vulgar.

haha same with me erica! except I LIKE ALL THAT "EMBARRASSING" MUSIC THAT YOU JUST LISTED. but the only makeout music that i've EVER put on was whiskeytown.

i told you before, but:

-lost in translation soundtrack
-yo la tengo
-modest mouse the moon and antarctica (even though some songs get a bit OUT OF CONTROL. you can just ignore it.)

i'm gonna burn you the lost in translation soundtrack, ONLY IF YOU WANT IT.

I WANT IT. pleeeease.
at the beginning of the summer, wpgu played 'sugarcube' by yo la tengo all the time and i LOVE that song.
WHAT OTHER ONES SHOULD I DOWNLOAD?

and if i ever make out with NEIL then i'm-a gonna pull out the modest mouse. that's the kind of lesson i learn from you.

beth, the x-files is on my tv right now. but i'm too AFRAID to watch. and besides that i've probably HEARD IT on your ipod.

the yo la tengo songs i have:

-sugarcube
-the summer
-don't have to be sad
-beach party tonight

"autumn sweater" is pretty good too, if i'm remembering correctly. annnnd i'll burn you the soundtrack. annnnd modest mouse is a must if you're making out with neil. annnnd i'd totally watch the x-files with you if i was at your house. if you knew the name of the episode/general storyline I COULD JUST GO AHEAD AND TELL YOU ALL ABOUT IT. so you wouldn't have to watch but you'd be FILLED IN. b/c i'm like that. WANTING TO SHARE THE XF LOVE.

i just went into the tv room and SAT IN FRONT OF THE TV FOR THIRTY SECONDS.

first there was a man in a surgical mask in some xray room with mulder and they were looking at a little ALIEN ON ICE and the doctor was like IF THIS ISN'T AN ALIEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS!! and then it cut to scully talking to this BOARDROOM of men about how mulder was finally willing to accept that the body was an extra-terrestrial and that it helped prove his sister's abduction.

OR SOMETHING.
CAN YOU DELIVER?!

Good times, shall we diplomatically put it, have been HAD to the following:

Delerium's "Poem" album

A patented mix of Azure Ray, A Covenant of Thorns, and The Softies

of course, duh, Portishead

AND LUTHER VANDROSS JUST KIDDING

This link has some good poems on it. It doesn't really go with this thread but it does have to do with relationships. The Alice Walker, of course, was life-shaking for me a year and some change ago when I was forcing myself to let go of Brandon knowing he was going to leave -- now I just love it for itself.

I also really liked the John Brehm too... just wow. I don't know what random MU student compiled that list but I think I should go marry him/her.

Anyway the link: http://www.missouri.edu/~jmk75b/moreoldstuff.html

oh julie, thank you! i have always loved the margaret atwood:
I would like to be the air
that inhabits you for a moment
only. I would like to be that unnoticed
& that necessary.

and the walker poem...yes. i have been wanting to read that lately, too, and you are the one who introduced it to me, so thank you doubly much.

Closer by Keb Mo'. Very good. Zach and I thought of using it as a wedding song, but it's not really very dance-able. But very make-out-able.
