did you make up that pattern or what did you use?? that is way too EFFING cute and i've been planning on knitting a hat w/ earflaps because that's the ONLY KIND of hat that looks good on me!
i made it up while watching TRADING SPOUSES yesterday. it's super-chunky cheapo yarn on size 10 needles, i think - 40 stitches in the round and then i just started decreasing when i felt like it. and with my short hurr it's hard for me to look cute in anything WITHOUT earflaps!
aah <- - - that is the sound of me being attacked by your cuteness.
also, i don't know how you are standing still. i still have to get through the next month and ALL of next semester and already i'm like "ppshaw, i'm a third year; being prepared for class is for nerds." SENIORS.
you and hillary sure will have a lot of official garb to don that week! kasjflkjaslfkj
SENIORS. SERIOUSLY. i hate to explain the full extent of my senioritis right now, frances, because my mom reads this (HI MOM, I'M GETTING GOOD GRADES) - but i am so OUTTA HERE. so. outta here.
and LUCKILY, i don't actually go through the graduation ceremony until may - but i take my last final/move out on the 15th, wedding rehearsal the 16th, and wedding the 17th! it will be the craziest weekend!
Did you use circulars or double-points? Because double-points are THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE. Plus I am in the middle of learning INTARSIA right now and cannot handle the stress of DPNs, but I would like sweet hat.
i used circulars - i have a set of denise interchangeables that are basically the love of my life. using dpns makes me TENSE, but i don't mind them really.
and INTARSIA! i've been working on an intarsia project for something like nine months now and i'm always so afraid that i'm going to eff it up that i can't work on it for long periods of time. knitting is supposed to be a relaxing hobby but i spend most of my time being like OMG DID I JUST--WAIT A SECOND WAS THAT--OH MY GOD AM I GOING TO HAVE TO--OH--OKAY WE'RE GOOD. x infinity.
Okay okay, so then here is my circulars question, eventually the hat gets narrower up at the top than your circulars will allow - WHAT THEN?
My local yarn store (LYS OMG) just ran out of Denise interchangeables, but I have my eye on them for Christmas... My intarsia project is the scariest red and blue scarf ever, because I am trying to get rid of all my icky acrylic by making into a project I will mess up anyway.
