Last year, the science fiction convention Orycon announced a panel on autism (in our world, not in science fiction) that did not include any autistic individuals, though it had plenty of parents. I am planning to attend with my kid this year. However, this is disturbing to me. So much that I am considering not attending, although it would be very sad to her.

So, I want to be an instrument for change. I want to be a disruptive force in a way that brings the attention of civil rights of those who do not comprehend what it is like to be silenced or unrecognized.
