[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]

Name: Aya Brea
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Fandom: Parasite Eve series
Timeline: Post Neo-Ark events, just before Parasite Eve 2 ends.
History: Aya's wiki page.

Character Personality: Aya's personality is often seen between two clauses as her exterior actions and facades are sometimes drastically different than how she internally feels and reacts.

On the whole, Aya is calm, collected and even tempered: the perfect cop persona in essence. In even the most dire situations she keeps her cool, and rarely ever gives the impression she's stressed or indisposed. Because the cases of her job are often in relation to circumstances that her mitachondrial cells are at fault for, Aya shoulders the blame and guilt-- and often takes matters completely into her own hands. That being said, she is highly intuitive and adept in combat, not at all phased by the notion of danger or the fact her life is more than often put at risk. She often relies not only on her physical skill but also her considerable mental skill to get through situations, having been a detective before she was a FBI agent presently.

On more intimate issues, Aya is a bit more fickle. Those closest to her, such as her partners and friends often do not see this side of the blonde where she is cut off and relaxed. Aya often refrains from talking about her past, her loss of family especially is something she prefers not to dwell on, though she apparently pines for some sort of familial connection again. Through Eve, a clone of her own mitachondrial DNA, Aya develops a protective bond with her and is perhaps only the closest with her because she is strikingly similar to her late sister to exemplify this.

Despite her emotional wariness, Aya is still capable of developing relationships, both friendly and intimate, but there is an evident barrier between her own true self and the strong cop exterior. She does in fact care very deeply for her friends, but still is cautious about keeping herself closed off as emotions are not Aya's strong suit. She is capable of showing affection to those closer to her, but it usually takes quite a bit of time for her to open up. At most times, however, she finds it best to keep herself closed off and seldom tries to truly show herself to others.

Character Abilities: Through the mitachondria in her system, Aya's abilities are enhanced by means of heightened awareness and resilience in battle. She is exceptionally skilled with a variety of guns, specifically a pistol. Also because of the mitachondria, Aya appears to be considerably younger than she actually is and is immune to most illnesses.

Character Weaknesses: Her past, as exemplified by the young Eve, almost a perfect replica of her dead sister Maya.

Also, while Aya holds a stoic, strong facade, she is still emotionally weak. Serious situations that affect her personally are often buried and not exactly dealt with... it's her poor mechanism for coping.

...She can't deny a freshly baked bagel smothered in cream cheese, either.

[ MEISTER SECTION ]

Why your character should be a Meister: Aya is a highly determined and brave woman-- who was practically born into leader-type situations (come on, she DOES have her own series of games!), as well as well adept in battle physically and mentally. To sum up, she would make an awesome Meister.

[ SOUL INFORMATION ]

Soul Description: Brave, level-headed, independent, stubborn, calm, witty.

Soul Appearance: Aya's soul is a darker shade of navy blue, with a tuft of blonde hair at the top and a slightly irritated expression.

[ SAMPLES ]

First Person: [Voicemail left for Pierce.]

[Muttered]--bastard, not answering your ph--

[Clearer now.] I know you're on vacation, but I've got another lead. I need all routes and mitachondrial proximity readings ASAP.

[After several minutes, a second voicemail is left, and her tone is obviously annoyed now.]

I didn't appreciate that picture. No, I'm not gonna kiss your ass, just get down here and get working already.

[She pauses.] Eve said she wanted to show you a picture she drew. [There's a slight smirk in her tone, no way Pierce can ignore Eve if he can bypass Aya.]

See you soon.

[She clicks off.]

Third Person:

Aya had always thought, or rather, she religiously practiced ignoring bad memories, and therefore believed that would keep them at bay. To a certain extent, they had been crammed away and forgotten with vigorous work and the distractions of an every day life. She often prided herself on being diligent enough to not succumb to her memories, and how stable her life was despite it. She had seen plenty of people succumb to the treacherousness of their pasts, from fellow cops to criminals.

But they couldn't stay away at night, when everything was very still and when the screams and cries and screeching tires were clawing outside her bedroom window. Memories of her mother, of Melissa, of Maya all clashed together at once and caused Aya to writhe in her bed. If only her family were still there, if only that car hadn't crashed that fateful day...

Alas, the sounds mercifully calmed when she woke up in a pool of her own cold sweat and sat up to only hear the somewhat lulling noise of the ceiling fan above. The blond cradled her head in her hands a moment, taking deep breaths. She was strong, she repeated herself once, then over and over.

She had learned to cope like any other human being. Things were different now, then they were when she was a rookie and all on her own. She had someone to care for, someone who needed protection and constant attention. Aya found both solace and pleasure in it, and she almost considered the young girl a daughter...if not a sister. They were, after all, a part of each other, a concept which Aya wondered was a curse or a blessing. Blue eyes drifted to the window, to the night lights of New York that shined below.

"Aya?" the voice was soft, but still caused Aya to jump a little and quickly swivel her head to the bedroom door. Eve stood there in her nightgown, even in the moonlight's illumination appeared as a doll-like version of herself-- and of the sister she had lost all those years before.

"Bad dream?" Aya assumed, and slowly smiled when the young girl nodded. Little did the young girl know that Aya needed her company just as she needed hers. "C'mere. If we sleep together, we'll have good dreams. I won't let them get you tonight."
