lmao I could have told you linux was a bitch I have it installed on my school computer with win2k. Someone stole my linux start up disk though :-/ so now I think I have to reinstall and get dual-boot running??? But it doesn't matter because my shop won't be there next year fucking chaughlin. Anyways, congrats on your new job ! ^.^
Meh, Linux isn't really that bad. Now don't get me wrong, I love linux, but I Also loathe it. Not because it's difficult, but because it's time consuming. It requires a lot of reading to do the what should be the very basic of things. It's not very intuitive operating system specifically as it lacks any real standardization and bastardizes just about everything developed for it. More or less it's greatest strength, is it's greatest weakness. Not that they don't at least provide plenty of material to read either. I've got 6 books, and 4-6 ebooks that say they do, plus a plethora of websites that have all sorts of information on it, not to mention you can just use the 'man' command.
Of course, it can be quite stressful to someone not ready to tackle the depenendancy nightmare linux poses. Even with things like RPMs and apt-get there are plenty of things out there to just ruin your day. And if you don't have a constant internet connection it's even less fun. :-(
LOL I was already well aware of how big a bitch Linux is but I was kinda looking forward to using it i the aspect of being able to customize every litttle thing to my liking and hopefully learning the finer points of it lol like installing opengl :-D Well good luck with the boot disk lol oh and also what version of Linux or whatever are you using at school? I am trying to learn Redhat!! thx for the comment and everything!! What do you mean your shop wont be there? are two shops merging or someshit?
