Yeh they plan on supporting certain patches and upgrades til 2010 apparently. But XP has a couple things more than just firewall and security center. Two things mainly are the way it works with most programs, a good XP system should run more efficient than 2k because of the tweaking if I'm not mistaken. Two, 64-bit. That one is the killer app, with the new 64-bit processors. Anyone who's in the market for the latest and greatest and games will WANT to upgrade just on that fact alone
