Sleep came the second that Yuufa's head hit the pillow that evening. Sesshoumaru slept little that night. Sleep factored very little into the youkai lord's rest. All he required was a short time of stillness to regain his energies, and he often spent this time thinking. When Yuufa was roused shortly after her little protest, it wasn't long before she was bathed, dressed in her finest robes (which were still fairly simple to compliment her nature), and forced to endure grueling, painful hair styling. Though the princess preferred her hair to be worn down or in something so simple as a braid or ponytail, she endured due to Yutaro's insistence that it would make her look more regal. Of course, Yuufa didn't bother to suggest that there was probably nothing in the world that could accomplish that. Even with the beads and jewels that now adorned her long, flowing hair, she still managed to look like nothing more than a dressed up, little doll ( ... )

Sesshoumaru ended his dealings with the curtains upon the sound of the Northerners approaching the room. It was not until the young girl spoke that he turned to face them. Her body language spoke far more loudly than her proper words did, and Sesshoumaru inwardly dreaded the thought of serious talks with this child. How can he discuss peace with a being whom did not even understand war ( ... )

Yuufa sat down and hoped that she didn't look too stiff and rigid as she did so. The noise of the beads in her hair clanging together whenever she so much a moved an inch did little to ease her nerves, and the princess found herself suddenly unable to recall just how she'd planned to start off this meeting ( ... )
