Title: Ice and Fire
Rating: PG
Pairing: Roy/Ed
Author's Note: I was taking fic prompts the other day, and I'm very slowly working my way through them. too_beauty asked for angsty with a happy ending, and while it's not nearly so eloquent as I hoped, it vaguely fits the bill. XD *wanders off to go work on a sequel to Keeping Secrets ( Read more... )

Thank you!!!! too_beauty April 25 2010, 17:13:05 UTC
I loved this one!!! and you really caught what I meant!
As usual your descriptions amazed me, they flow so smoothly that it is so easy to picture the images you are describing!

No matter how long they were apart, Ed will try to show his hard side but he is really in love and caares so much about Roy that it was really cute "seeing" them so close.

I am sure they will work things out together!!!

Thank you again and really looking forward to reading the next prompts.

I liked Al being perceptive as always and flooring Roy. I liked the description of being lost in the snow, too - it felt very authentic. I love that Ed went to his brother first, and then decided to drag Mustang back to his senses and the real world. Great job!

Sequel to Keeping Secrets.. hell yessss awesomeee, this week keeps getting better!
Oh, this was wonderful

"Somehow, his fantasies never involved Ed cradling his still shivering body, holding a mug of tea to his lips."

I loved thiss, how things don't always go as you imagine. your imagery is incredible, I could totally see that whole snow scene through my mind. Gosh you're awesome. :D

I love fics wherein Ed finally makes it back to Amestris and drags Roy out of his self imposed exile! :D Say what you will, but Havoc's line in the movie when he and Breda were leaving Roy's outpost, the one about, "It's not the lieutenant he's waiting for", totally cemented RoyEd as canon! :D Awesome fic! Can't wait to see the sequel to Keeping Secrets! <3

Oh! P.S.! I really liked how you had Roy getting happily shuttled off by the higher ups rather than have him face a trial. The generals all got the benefit of avoiding a messy trial, avoiding the court of public opinion, AND, with the hero of Ishbal out of the way, a chance to seize the coveted position of fuhrer. A win-win for them and a lose-lose for poor Roy. :( At least he got Ed back in the end! <3
