*cough* Your secret is safe with me... I'm still a little biased towards Aang - and I am dying to find out what happened to him - but the new show is pretty good and may grow on me.
From what I know, Aang died young because the 100 years in the iceberg shortened his lifespan (Avatars live longer than normal humans, apparently; Avatar Kyoshi lived to be 230 years old and was the longest lived Avatar).
WHY IS KORRA SO FLAWLESS NO SHOW SHOULD BE THIS GOOD.
If we assume Korra to be 16 or so, which is when she would normally have been told she was an avatar if she hadn't already known, then Aang would have died at 66. That's so young! *Waaah!*
Of course, while watching the first episode, everyone in my house cried out when Katara said that her brother was 'gone'. *SNIFF* I was heartbroken!
I still come online every once in a while, but while I'm obsessive over Avatar, I don't really come on LJ much at all.
I will be online more often to finish up my FMA fanics. I only have 6 more chapters to write of Finding Sunshine, and there was a few oneshot ideas I had in the back of my head I wanted to get out.
It kills me to leave something unfinished, so I figured I should go back and finish it while the fandom is still here.
I am in total agreement over the awesomeness of Korra. I'm so happy to have a strong kick-butt female! (And she has blue eyes, like me!) Avatar is so excellent and done so well. I love the animation. The new characters are growing on me surprisingly fast, too! At first I wasn't sure how I felt about a new series but I instantly fell in love. I think it's sad that Aang died, especially so young (and without meeting his grandchildren!) but I'm glad we weren't left hanging with what happened to the others besides him (like Sokka), even if they're already gone, too... But I'm thinking Aang will come back to talk to Korra from the spirit world?! Wouldn't that be AWESOME?! And who is the leader of this rebellion, Amon? And how did he get his power? And are Aang and Katara's other two kids airbenders or waterbenders? (Or is that for sure that they're waterbenders because Korra said Tenzin is the "only" airbender to teach her?) And I can't help wondering... is there some relation between Mako and Zuko...? (They kind of have some

Yeah, I was so sad when I found out Sokka wasn't still alive. I wish he was; he would've been an awesome grumpy, senile old man.
