i am in love with THIS. it's a clickable map of the Dempster Highway which shows you all the stuff you can stop and look at and places you can stay along its 736 km (457 mile) length (Dawson City YK to Inuvik NWT).

also this, a short history of the Dempster Highway. gorgeous photos and tons of facts.

I was looking for info about Invuik schools and found this simple little intro to Inuvik:

It includes a picture of the elementary school and notes that Inuvik was built as a planned community in 1958 to replace Aklavik as the territorial capital (Aklavik flooded too much).
