I don't usually read Spain/Romano, but this was cute~ and a little, little bit sad? I really like the line -- (Spain on the platform with arms full of presents, looking around, clueless as usual- obscured by smoke- Romano hanging out nearby) -- can we say 'adorkable'? It's probably a sight Romano has seen a few times already, as birthdays are celebrated pretty fantastically in Spain.

Oh, yeah, totally. It's a big, big thing. I'm from Venezuela and we inherited a lot of Spanish customs. I remember being a kid and during birthdays there were pretty much TWO parties going on at the same time. The adults would take over half of the house and the kids the other half. Each would just go all out -- gigantic piñatas, one for the kids and the other for the adults. (of course the adult piñatas usually had more adult stuff. I remember one bachelorette piñata being stuffed with like condoms and sex toy gags.)

It's, uh, interesting, to say the least.
