PTK Camp? O.o

Oct 07, 2009 08:27

So I got the information about the Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Conference...

Registration and check in begins at 2pm and will take place at UT Tyler. I hope District II will have a strong presence at Leadership.
The first general session will begin at 3:45 sharp so make sure to factor in travel time in accordance with the Rose Festival that is going on in Tyler this weekend.
Be ready for role call! Both as a District and a chapter.

On Friday night directly after the General Session at UT Tyler, please plan to stay late for evening activities!
The following activities are going on Friday night, so make sure to bring supplies with you to the General Session.
These events may be going on at the same time, but we timed it so you can do all three if you wish!

***Explore the High Seas Treasure Hunt
Make sure to bring your warm clothing, as this is a live action game that involves being outside and finding characters around the UT Tyler campus.
Not your ordinary "scavenger hunt." Pirate attire is optional, but please make sure to bring your flashlights! Please see the attachment for more info.
This is a District II event led by the Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, and North Lake chapters so come and support us!

***Nothing But Nets Basketball Tournament
Rob from District 4 is heading this event up. This is the first tournament in the series to benefit the Nothing But Nets foundation.
Make sure to bring your jerseys, games will be played with 3 on 3 teams. $5 to enter.

***Pool Party!
Make sure to bring your towels and swimsuits. Sure to be a blast - I hear the hot tub is amazing.

***Snacks will be provided so make sure to include your chapter on one or more of these events for food, fun, and fellowship!

Remember that Saturday night is a Costume Ball.
Dress as your favorite leader, be it from Jedi to Greek Gods to your favorite politician.
Make sure to bring a costume and dancing shoes! I hear someone is actually learning the entire Thriller dance. :)

...Doesn't this just seem more like Church camp than a college activity? O.o I'm not complaining, but this means I need to get a new bathing suit DDDDD: AND SHAVE. AND. AND.

A lot of other things that I wasn't certain that I needed to do. PREPARATION IS GO. D: And I need to do lots of laundry today, after the PTK meeting.

...Though...

I am a bit weirded out in a good way. One of the Phi Theta Kappa members, Chloe, apparently thinks I'm interesting and wants to hang out with me outside of a meeting O_O

*is not sure how to take this*

phi theta kappa, church camp?, wtf is this shit
