Only five people remained in the concert hall.

I was one of them. The two guitarists seemed to be oblivious that there were others in the room. The other two on the other hand were busy fixing they’re instruments.

It would be midnight in about fifteen minutes. The hall was quiet, except for the occasional thumping and screeching. It would be a lot noisier if the two guitarists were joking around with each other, but something happened. I don’t know what but I do hope they would make up.

In approximately eighteen hours, the hall would be filled with crowds. Cheering. Screaming. Giggling. Laughing. Watching.

In approximately eighteen hours, I’d loose my self. Drowning in the music. Drowning in my emotions. Drowning because of the bright lights that held me captivated.

I closed my eyes trying to calm myself down. I always was excited at the same time nervous when we were going to do the final concert of the tour.

My thoughts went back to the two guitarists that were on different sides of the room, their backs turned against each other.

“Hey. Are you ok?”

“Yeah. I’m just -.” I took a deep breath. He laughed and patted my back. I glared at him. “I’m just nervous.”

“Don’t worry. Everything will work out. It always does.” I nodded my head as he headed back to his corner.

I turned to my mic stand and started to twist it around. “Rei?”

“Yes Ru?”

“Do you think they’re ok?” As I said this, the bassist glanced at the two guitarists. “I mean, they’re not going to ignore each other during the concert right?”

“They’ll be fine Ru-chan. You know how their fights don’t last long. Come on, Aoi can’t stay mad at Uruha that long.”

I watched Aoi strumming his acoustic guitar and humming to it. I heard him curse quietly as a string snapped off. Uruha looked up from his guitar and snorted. I suppressed a giggle and Reita watched with amusement.

“Are you just going to stare at them?”

“Not really. I’m going to bed.” I stretched my arms and legs. “I’m exhausted. See ya later.”

“Night Ru.”

-------

One hour.

Damn it. Why do they do this? Don’t they know that it takes me more than two hours to get ready. Why did the damn hairstylist arrive late? Ugh!

I should think of something else than struggling the hairstylist. Then I saw them. They were in the corner of the room. Uruha was biting his lip and Aoi was staring at the floor. I frowned, what is going on with them?

“Ruki. We have a problem.”

“I know. Look at those two.”

“That’s not what I’m talking about - wait what?” I motioned Kai to look at the corner just as Aoi was about to walk out of the room, and Uruha staring at his back.

“Oh no.” I didn’t have time to ask Kai what the problem was; he was out the door as soon as I was about to open my mouth.

I sighed and looked at the mirror in front of me. The hairstylist was spraying hair spray at the back of my head.

“Ruki?”

I wondered what happened now. I glanced at Uruha’s reflection in the mirror. His eyes were blood shot. I stood up quickly ignoring the stylist, asking her to get out.

“What happened Uru?”

------

I tried to concentrate on the song I’m singing. My head was spinning and everything looked blurry. The lights flashing around me were intoxicating. I finally managed to stay standing until the end of the song. The hall grew darker and I ran towards Reita.

I had a plan. And it will surely get Aoi and Uruha to forget about their fight.

As soon as the lights were turned on, I started singing. My hips swayed to the beat. After a few lines of the song I pulled Uruha to me and I motioned Reita to do the same with Aoi.

Reita pushed Aoi between him and me. I moved away from Aoi and Reita followed me, making Aoi stay beside Uruha. I watched from the corner of my eyes, the two looked uncomfortable next to each other in the middle of the stage.

And I hoped that my plan would work.

I let my voice fade away since the guitarists’ solo was coming up. The lights around them started to slowly fade away. They were the only ones seen. Aoi leaned his shoulder to Uruha, and he did the same.

Somehow I knew, under those bright lights, anything could change. Everything would be okay.
