Oh, I wholeheartedly recommend.
He's from that period of Japan when they were past regurgitating Western culture and adding it and making it their own.
In his case it also makes sense to know Dostoevsky's and Tolstoy's main novels.
At my most painful breakup his "Fool's life" was a pint of Whiskey-based icecream.

He's from that period of Japan when they were past regurgitating Western culture and adding it and making it their own.
