I had no idea! A Fire Upon the Deep and A Deepness in the Sky are two of my favorite sci-fi novels. I have been meaning to read some of Vinge's other works, like Rainbow's End. Seems like a good time to get back into it.

I think you will enjoy A Deepness in the Sky. The scale is a bit smaller, but the characters (including the aliens) are just as fascinating and relatable as in Fire.

I've never read Vernor Vinge, but this review makes me inclined to try it

I have always been a fan of Joan D. Vinge - the Snow Queen is a long time favorite.
