Yeah, they have similar facial shapes, and those bald heads. Oopsie, sorry; although it was fun watching Dr. Robert Romano go down hill. (he was later killed by a falling helicopter, also.)
I think he played a crooked officer in Firefly, but that character might not have been him, because the character's arms were still attached by the end.
Holy shit! I am so happy that somebody else has noticed this strange type-casting anomaly! Although I really shouldn't be surprised that it was you. I also noticed it while watching The Machinist and started wondering if maybe he does only have one arm, but I don't think so. I don't know. Maybe its just something about his face. He kinda looks like the type of guy whose arm you want to see ripped off. Like there's just too much arm on him.

As for Ironside's mastery of armless acting and whether or not he really is missing an arm, I did some research: No, he is not missing any limbs. He has both his arms, but his portrayal of the armless is flawless. The way he fell down that elevator shaft wiggling his bloody nubs, for example. Flawless!

He has both his arms, but his portrayal of the armless is flawless. The way he fell down that elevator shaft wiggling his bloody nubs, for example. Flawless!
