Dismembering IronsideI was continuing my research into why Michael Ironside ( http://imdb.com/name/nm0000461/ ) keeps having his arms ripped off in his films, when I found a post by a guy who calls Ironside "the most desmembered man in Hollywood". His lists includes other ( Read more... )

Alright, I'm almost positive there is something else in which he has a limb torn asunder, but after scrutinizing his IMDB profile, I'm still at a loss (although I do have to say it's rather impressive how prolific of a career the guy has had). Possibly one of the two Tales from the Crypt episodes he was in? That seems most likely. Maybe Free Willy. The whale did go on a limb eating spree at one point in that, right? Just before it was realized he had rabies and Pa had to put him down with a gentle shotgun shell? Chris has season four of Crypt, so I'll check to see if it has either of those episodes.
On a completely different subject, can you recommend any material on entropy written in utter laymans terminology? (my brain aint so good with fancy math talk) I figured you'd be the person to ask.

I see he did some work for the Splinter Cell game. Please, oh please let there be a game animation somewhere with him getting a limb torn from its socket. Better yet, one with us at the controls.

How much could I make on an anatomically correct Michael Ironside doll with velcro'ed extremities?

I'm only a good person to ask because I'm an utter layman. ("Layman" has always seemed like it belongs in The Master Cocksman's Handbook of Technical Terms and Diagrams (which hasn't been written yet but really should be). Actually, I've never read a book whose main subject was entropy, but the topic comes up in nearly all of my popular science and non-fiction reading ( ... )

I lost control of an italic tag in there. I wasn't whispering or being ironic or anything.

M.I. played Sam Fisher, the protagonist of Splinter Cell, in every game. As the protagonist, however, he basically remains whole throughout, if a little battered. Since I've played all the Splinter Cells, I can tell you with certainty that he didn't lose a wing throughout.

Perhaps M.I. has BIID, and he's drawn to those roles?

I met Mike when I used to work with Stuntmasters many years back as an FX artist/makeup artist.

The man has balls of steal and is one of the best stuntmen/actors I've ever seen. He usually gets the "critical injuries" because unlike a lot of other stuntmen, he makes his pain believable. Sweet guy...Smokes like a chimney.
