Harry Noller studies the ribosome. He dedicated his entire career to it and is really highly regarded as doing good science. He almost and totally should have won the Nobel prize for his work. He was one of the people interviewing me at UCSC for school.
I was totally nervous about meeting him at first because I'm so new to science. Like how do I even talk to him about stuff. But I told him what I do and what I love about it, which he seemed to think was interesting. And then I just asked him for advice for how to do science. What things are intuitive and what things are methodically driven. It was a rush.
