I often think of my own religion in the strangest terms.

I worship a guy that died 2000 years ago.
I believe he came back from the dead after 3 days.
I take part in a ritual where the main event is eating this man's body and drinking his blood.

Now how odd is that?

Not odd at all and rather mainstream, actually.

Maybe love is a mere side effect of little billiard-ball interactions of subatomic particles... but wouldn't that be finding spirituality in something rather like a game of snooker?

Quantum physics doesn't impress me either - I came, I studied, I got my physics degree... meh. No magic there.

I would like there to be a Cat Heaven though. Claire is getting on in years.

We are stardust
we are golden
we are billion year old carbon,
and we got to get ourselves
back to the garden...

you mean to tell me that we aren't living in the most glorious period of knowledge, wisdom, and true enlightenment? *tilts and scratches head* for a scientific, globalizing capitalist, you sure sound like a social constructionsist... :)

Hmmm.... *Googles (TM) (R) this newfound thing, 'social constructionist'*

Ahhh... fascinating!

Well, how to put it?

I wouldn't be able to contemplate the nature of our species, without lots of leisure time.

Leisure time gained by ruthless, corporate globalisation of that same species...
