Well, as the saying goes from the most awesome movie of all time, Buckaroo Banzai, "Wherever you go, there you are".

Which could mean anything, but I like to think it means we bring something of ourselves everywhere we are. If someone isn't happy in a giant city where most of the people are happy, it's probably them instead of the city. Which isn't to say they are doomed to be unhappy everywhere, it's just that the city isn't a good fit for them.

I think every major city I've visited I could see myself living in - they always have the sparkle of new, and the curious temptation of starting your life over in so many ways.

Very true, some people just aren't meant for the bigger cities. I know three girls, who are very close nice friends, and each of them have this cottagy country dream, small town, wood stove, little garden out back.

There was a time where that was a desire of mine, but when I came to the realization5-10 years ago that I'm never going to learn to drive, I realized that to me, there is a deep importance to a big city, and yes, there are those situations where you have someone else driving you around, but I would hate to have that part of me, leaning on someone else with that sort of expectation.
