Knee-jerk reaction to LCD Soundsystem - "LCD Soundsystem" after 1.5 listens

Prior to the release of their self-titled debut, LCD Soundsystem had two classic awesome songs: "Losing My Edge" and "Yeah (Crass Version)." They also had about 5 or so solidly good songs. I'd actually go so far as to say that "Daft Punk is Playing At My House" is classic, too. Although the rest is, you're right, just solidly good. I do wonder what the reaction to an album like this would be not only if there'd been no hype but if those early singles didn't exist, either (like: what if it was just the first disc?).
