AI5 Tour Recap!

All in all a great concert! Went with my lovely birthday girl Katie sombody2love. I'm always impressed that they sound even better live than they do on the show. Here's a quick run down of the show for anyone who cares ;)

Mandisa - She opened the show with "I'm Every Woman" and then she sang some ballad and dedicated it to Ruben. LOL, it was cute. I kept thinking he was gonna pop up and come sing with her. I had my hand on my cell phone to call hopelessfangirl just in case ;) She also mentioned how it was cool to perform in NC since we know how to crank out our Idols. DAMN STRAIGHT BITCHEZ!!

Mandisa/Ace - I had read that Mandisa and Ace were doing a duet together so when I heard the beginning of "I'm Your Angel" I got reeaallllly excited! Ace came rising out of the stage and ooooh hell, that boy is gorgeous. Mmm. They sounded really lovely together.

Ace - More squeeing from MC as he continued his set which included "Father Figure" (!!!), during which he very slowly and teasingly stripped off his jacket while drawling out the word "naked." :p He also sang a cover of "Harder to Breathe" which was really high energy and included a lot of his trademark falsetto. *GLEE*

Lisa - I think Lisa was my favorite girl this season, I don't think she got near the credit she deserved. She opened with "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," but the her real highlight was when she played piano and sang "Your Song" and "Someone Saved My Life Tonight." I was thrilled b/c those are two of my favorite Elton songs and she sang them beautifully.

Lisa/Paris - Cute little duo to "Waterfalls" with cheese-tastic choreographed dancing. Ahh yes. *wallows in teh lame*

Paris - I liked Paris when she was first on the show, but her ego has just gotten to be a bit much for me. And she was acting SO ghetto last night I was just kinda like o___O She was alright though. She sang "Crazy in Love" and Katie and I got crunk LOL. She also sang "Midnight Train to Georgia," which was alright except all I could think was how Kimberley Locke could sing it so much better ;)

Bucky - ROTFL ooooh Bucky. He just makes me laugh. He's such a redneck. I couldn't even understand what he was singing. Katie and I spent much of his set shrieking "BUCKEEEH!! FATHER MAH CHILDREEEEEN!!" It was hot.

Bucky/Kellie - They sang this really "countrified" version of "You're the One That I Want," which was about as high as you can get on the tolerable cheese-o-meter, but it was cute to see two of our little hometown kids singing together.

Kellie - LOL, I know she can be a bit much, but she really is as cute as a button. I don't think her whole smalltown southern charm thing is an act, she seems genuine to me. She sang "Walking After Midnight" and some other song and thanked everyone profusely and talked about dreams coming true. LOL omg seriously you just don't even understand the cheese.

Intermission

Chris - Given Chris' heartthrob status and the fact that he's from NC, he was definitely a fan favorite. It was SO LOUD when he came out. I didn't know any of the songs he sang, but he did a good job even though it's not really my favorite type of music.

Chris/Elliot - Elliot came out and they did a cover of that "Savin' Me" song by Nickelback (I think). I think they sounded really nice together.

Elliot - YAY ELLIOT! Katie totally persuaded me over to Team Elliot, so he was the other one I was super excited to see other than Ace. His set was awesome. He really is talented. White boy's got soul ;)

Elliot/Chris/Ace/Bucky - GUH!! Favorite part of the evening. Chris and Bucky played guitar and they all sang "Patience" which is a Guns n' Roses song I believe. It was absolutely GORGEOUS, it gave me goosebumps. I would definitely check Idolforums for an mp3 of it if you're a fan of any of them. I'm headed out of town until Saturday, but I'd be happy to send if anyone's interested when I get back.

Katharine - I got so excited when she started singing b/c I knew she had been sick and I wasn't sure she was gonna be there! She sang "Black Horse and a Cherry Tree" and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," which she dedicated to her BFF Kellie. It was SO sweet. I can understand why the judges were so impressed with her when she sang it on the show. Hearing her sing it live is just brilliant. I honestly almost cried. Holy CRAP I am lame. :p

Taylor - I'm not wild about Taylor, but he did give an entertaining set. His first couple of songs I wasn't familiar with, but he had an AMPED HARMONICA! I mean really, WOAH. I've always been a fan of the cheesirific Idol ballads that they give to the finalists, so I loved hearing him sing "Do I Make You Proud?" He also sang the other song from his single, "Takin' It To the Streets," which was a lot of fun.

Group Numbers - Everyone came out again at the end to sing "We are the Champions" and "I Live in America." Everyone was squealing and singing along so you couldn't really tell if they were on pitch but I don't really think anyone cared :p

In the end, I was very very happy with the show. Good times :)

UMMMM HOLY CRAP, there's a Claiken exclusive on today's Entertainment Tonight!!!!!1111ONE He has his emo haircut and is trying to make moody, emo little faces but I don't even care anymore. OMG I think he's even singing. *BREATHES INTO PAPER BAG*

Ok, I'm quite literally heading out the door to Atlanta until Saturday. Returning home to comments would make me a happy girl! ;) *bats eyelashes* Have a fabulous rest of the week! *HUGS*
