The name of the company is Royal Mail, without article. Saying "the Royal Mail" is like saying "the Ikea" or "the Starbucks." I should know, I work for them. :-)

I wouldn't quibble with you as to the correct name of the company; nevertheless, in common parlance people do use the article.
