I suppose you're right. If I had chosen to devote the prime years of my life to a ultimately useless endeavor (not that there is anything wrong with that) -- failed miserably, and then had my career ended by injury, I might be a depressed, lonely individual capable of terrible acts. For this though, I'd also need to be a perv.
