Hi, many of you may have seen or participated in a brief and spontaneous spectacle at 44 Seaman today around 5pm where a real live young hawk [an eyas] was seen chowing down on pigeon. I was the guy with the telephoto lens, and while I'm about to email some of these pictures to the folks on the scene who gave me their addresses, I wanted you guys to see this too.
Apparently, according to an on-the-scene expert, being this unabashed around people indicates the hawk is more likely than not to come to some harm [by people, I presume].
