Away for tooo long

I've been sitting here on my computer trying to get myself do what it is I'm supposed to be doing. But I'm completely lost. I'm so out of touch, from online world and everything. The story went like this...

A few months ago... I was busy working my site, making a lot of really awesome brushes, a lot more pretty textures and so on. I felt like, wow,

Oh, wow. I feel for you. I lost everything about 6 years ago because my HD died. I took it in, but they said it couldn't be retrieved or fixed. I'd heard about something called slaving, but it gave me hope and I didn't want to try it because then I might actually have lost everything. It took me a long time to do it, but I'm glad I did. I got it all back.

Is there any way you can slave your old HD to another computer and go in and get all of your stuff? *crosses fingers*

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time and have to start over again. :(

Thanks hon, I did try it and it didn't work since it's not even recognized at all. So it's completely dead. I'm so depressed that now I don't know where to start, you know?! It's just so much work!

It really does feel like too much work to begin again. I can't even imagine what it must be like. Maybe you could start off with something small to build your enthusiasm back up? Do something, not for others, but something you enjoy, just for yourself or your family.

I know I'm not much help. Who can be when we're not you and don't have magic dust to help you?

I don't know what I'd do if I lost all that stuff.

hi Elli! See that's the thing, I lost all the NEW stuff that I was going to upload online. I made about 8 XL/HQ illustrations that I was going to put up for sales.. 2 weeks worth of drawing day and night! Plus new brushes and textures (customize textures for some clients as well) I'm so depressed just thinking about it! :(

And thank you for answering the questions. You're one my longest LJ friends that I've known, either by your fanart or your RL work. It's so good to see you're still around LJ! *hugs*

I'm sure I've seen your graphics in the past while I was still active running around lj :) It's great to see you're still around! Yay for Spuffy! I no longer making any Spuffy art, but I still read Spuffy fics like it's my bible, everyday! LOL! :D

I will friend you back soon. I need to reconnect and rearrange my flist again. So many people changed their usernames that I don't know them anymore just by looking at their names! *hugs*

Agh, that is just...terrible!:( Almost lost all my graphics a few years ago-I got lucky and my tech was able to salvage it-and the very notion had made my heart sink!:/ Stay positive,if all else fails, and perhaps there can be some help!:) I know I have all your patterns saved in my pc, for instance, or close enough to all, and some art, as well; I'd be happy to send them your way!:)

5.Well, journaling aside, I still post my graphics and check out my friends' journals; I used to run a contest too, but it died down...been considering restarting it, though!:)

Hi Martha :) Thank you so much for commenting, sweetie! The problem is that I lost all of the work I was doing during the last few weeks before it all crashed on me. So, no, I haven't uploaded them online for sharing.. But there were A LOT! I worked for a few weeks for some clients and I also made quite a few HQ illustrations that I was gonna sell. I lost them all:( so depressing just thinking about it!

And I'm just way nerveous that I can't do them as good anymore, you know?

Yep, that sounds very, very bad!!:/ I can understand exactly how you must be feeling, I felt like screaming-heck, I did do a lot of screaming, actually,hehe- when I thought my files were all gone, it felt...beyond desperate!!:S I've fallen into the habit of frequent backups after the incident I mentioned above-lol, slightly paranoid about backing up my files, got to admit, mostly because I don't know what I'd do if I lost all my art!:S

I'd not worry too much about not being able to do art as well as before, though, hehe, you're amazing and talented and you can only make even better art!;)

Oh and I know losing everything is hard, very very hard. But you're probably the only person I know who can create anything in PS from scratch and whose work will be even better than her previous work! Everything will be ok sweetie.
