NO!

[There's a sound, the swing of a blade and the earsplitting clang of metal as it hits the communicator; a gunshot almost instantaneously follows and the video turns on. It's hard to make heads or tails of things for a moment as the communicator skips across the pavement, but when it settles down (upside down inverting the world) there's Seifer ( Read more... )

Well well well.

Somehow I doubt that.

You are awfully angry for simply returning.

I was in the middle of something.

[Dying specifically. Far as he knows anyways.]

What d'you want.

We were all in the middle of something.

[Giovanni stares at him for a moment. Analyzing. Contemplating. Genuinely pondering the question asked of him. Why was he following Seifer--what did he want?]

I have never had any personal acquaintance leave and return. Certainly not so quickly. Perhaps I am merely curious. [...] Perhaps I simply want answers.

Personal acquaintance?

[He raises a hand and presses it to his forehead. The laughter that follows sounds far from healthy, but it's a damn sight nicer than an attempt on Giovanni's life would have been. Or maybe not. In a way it's almost pathetic. He's feeling pretty pathetic right now.]

Don't make me laugh! I ain't got any answers, where the hell you think I've been!?

[He tenses and slams his clenched fist against the wall. He doesn't know if he's losing it or what. It's all so funny, but he's not enjoying it like he should. He lowers his gunblade.]

Get out of here Giovanni.

No.

[He doesn't hesitate to flat-out answer. He stares a little longer, eyes not focused on the tattered appearance and battered body but as if looking into the soul of the 'knight' standing there broken.]

Home. [/nearly whispered.] I think you went home. And didn't find what you were looking for there.

Oh, but didn't they tell you? I found everything I wanted and more. All that's left is to wrap up the FINAL ACT!

[He's grinning, but it's more despairing than anything. Ten more minutes, that's all he asked. Why did he have to come back to Discedo now, at that moment; it's driving him insane.]

Dream's over! Got anything else y'want to share today?!

Are you so desperate to die?

[It's not hard to read you at the moment. He pities you now.]

[Lol he's not doing very well hiding anything right now. Not that he cares. If people know or not, it doesn't change anything. What he's done, what he's failed. Nothing more than just another piece of trash.]

SHUT UP!

[He slashes at Giovanni. Which is stupid, particularly since he's in no way in a condition for a fight, but he's not thinking straight anymore. His movements are haphazard and completely readable. Also that's a yes, yes he is. Being dead is easier than being alive and incapable.]

[Being dead also means there isn't chance for redemption.

Giovanni easily dodges the slash with a sidestep and in an instant counters as he strafes around the rage-blinded youth; he makes a grab for Seifer's wrist in order to wrench it behind his back, shove him against the wall, and pin him there, hidden blade pressed calmly at the youth's throat if, in the end, it was as easy as it seemed at the moment.]

[Unfortunately Seifer has never been altruistic enough for redemption.

But it is very easy. Child's play practically. At this point he can't be anything, but an animal, and just like an animal Giovanni catches him easily and leads him through the motions with nothing more than struggles comparable to those of a drunken brawler on Seifer's part. He meets the wall and there's a knife at his throat before his mind catches up enough that he knows what to do with himself. Not that he does even then. This is all so pathetic! He can barely stand it!

He doesn't even say anything. The only sound he gives is the harsh breathing from between his clenched teeth. He's not afraid to die, but this is Discedo. It won't mean a thing. It'll never mean a damn thing. Damn it... Damn it!]

[Giovanni would have laughed at the simplicity of it all. He would have expected more on the day they finally fought for real, blade to blade. He was disappointed. He should have known though.

He just holds him in place. His voice is soft. Velvet over steel.] So life dealt you a terrible hand in tarot. You act as if you are the only one in the universe. Well, then go ahead and cry about it if it makes you feel better. But I didn't take you for the type to give up so easily.

Was I so wrong?

[Seifer doesn't even know what to say. Does he want to die? Maybe. No. Possibly. Whatever it takes to just achieve some sort of ending. That's the only thing he wants! As he is now... he's not even a person. To be so denied is a cruelness even he can't handle no matter how much he knows he deserves it.

The silence stretches as memory and thoughts, the confusion, the sense of loss, swirl around his head. He'd rather just be an animal and not answer, fight instead. But someone who's nothing can't even fight can they. They've already lost the battle just by virtue of what they are. He grits his teeth. Damn it...]

... ... ...The hell do you care. Afraid of a little work?

[His hand tenses around the handle of his gunblade, but he doesn't do anything more than that. What he wants to do he's not sure, hurt something maybe. Submitting to Giovanni's heavy handed sense of pride isn't on the list though. Even like this he won't be controlled.]

Is that an invitation to fix you? [He chuckles.

And just as abruptly stops. The blade at Seifer's throat retracts with a faint shnk sound as the Italian lowers his hand away. Slowly, he releases his grip on Seifer's wrist and steps back once, twice, three times. Putting him out of easy range.]

I don't care who runs the Watch; they already started making plans without you. My only concern is the broken knight and what it might do in its damaged state.

[He turns around. Is this pity? He doesn't know, but it grinds the feeling of worthlessness in deeper. The mention of knights makes his back straighten though and he looks a little less the defeated dog.]

...The knight has retired.

[If it sounds like he's repeating a line from somewhere else he is. Still he's looking a little less crazy, looking Giovanni in the eye instead.]

Killing all of you won't do me anything. You've got no worries on that regard.

See to it that it stays that way.

[It's a dismissal if ever there was one. He doesn't wait around for a reply either, just turns his back on Seifer and stalks away. He'll be keeping an eye on you though. If you catch a glimpse of something white and turn to find nothing there--it's Giovanni, keeping tabs from the shadows.]
