Charlie Cote. One of the nicest, most genuine kids you will ever meet. Died of cancer.

Seriously, Charlie was so amazing. He fought for so long and so hard. It's really horrible the things that happen to the people who least deserve it.

*Taken from FSR's Myspace;
The news is sobering. Charlie met with the radiation oncologist last week to discuss the results of his latest MRI and talk about whether radiation can relieve some discomfort in his neck. The bad news: he has a mass the size of a tennis ball pushing on the inside of his throat that poses a potential threat to his breathing and his carotid artery. He also has tumors on his lung that are growing rapidly and causing a lot of pain. His doctors don't think he has much time left and that's overwhelmingly sad. Melanoma is one of the most aggressive, unpredictable cancers and least responsive to treatment. He's tried surgery, radiation, immunotherapy and chemo. He's had the best medical care available in the world for his type of cancer.

It’s not clear yet whether the next round of radiation will provide any relief but surgery has been ruled out as an option. The palliative care team continues to try and find effective ways to treat his pain without overly sedating him. He’s now on a very powerful narcotic that seems to help. His doctors have nothing else they can offer him in the way of treatment and that’s discouraging. He wants to keep making music as long as possible and hopes to take advantage of his in home recording studio provided by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It's doubtful that he could play any more shows with the band but miracles can happen.

Seriously, it's so devistating. It really is.
For the boys of Five Star Riot, I hope that you continue to play, as you know that's what Charlie wants to see. Keep your heads up and keep positive thoughts moving throughout your heads. We're all here for you. ♥

RIP Charlie. ♥♥♥
