Bit of an undate

I know I'm probably way behind with keeping up with everybody. I do apologise, though it looks like there's no let up just yet. Lambing is finally over but it's all systems go on the book. I now have a mid May deadline for getting the text into its final format. That means sorting out the literally hundreds of footnotes and all the typos and any ( Read more... )

I am really looking forward to it - are you hoping to launch it at Tolkien 2012? I am very, very, tempted to go to that.

Thank you!

Oh I do hope you do come to RotR. We're actually hoping to launch it the week before that but nothing's finalised yet.

Do shout if you need any proof-reading or other help - something I am very used to in my day to day job :D Looking forward to being able to read the finished book.

Thank you so much. I'm discovering just what a big job the final edit is and I haven't begun to work on things like the format of footnotes so I may well take you up on that.

Looking forward to a signed copy! As with Arwen, if there is anything I can do to mop the furrowed brow let me know. Btw did you get my message about Tree's visit? I can't seem to find your details which I have obviously put in a very safe place!

Thanks so much Liz and you must come to the launch.

Yes I did get your message but it sounds as if you didn't get my reply. I'll try and phone you again tomorrow.

Estelcontar will be of great help, I'm sure of it!

May I add my plug? *g* Having read the book (or at least the last version of it before your latest editing), I can certainly attest to its value as a much-needed, exhaustive examination of how Aragorn came to be, both story internally and externally. Whether or not Aragorn is a favorite character, there's so much information in here that ties the entire legendarium together that it's well worth the read even if you prefer, say, Elves in the 1st Age, or Hobbits in the 3rd Age, or dragons under a Lonely Mountain.

You're definitely in the home stretch now, isn't it! *cheers you on*

Oh thank you so much for adding your plug! Yes I think people will be surprised at what's in there altogether and the feedback so far has been most encouraging.

Yes, a couple more months and then, well, I've been so wrapped up in this for so long, I'll probably feel really lost without it!

You probably will be a little sad, actually. That's pretty normal for writers after they finish their big project. But it passes and then you start getting ideas for the Next Big Thing. *g*
