Fic writers question

To any of you out there used to writing Ten/Rose, do you find it difficult to move over to writing TenII? I'm trying to write a little scene, and I'm finding it really hard to write him, despite the fact that I do find him absolutely adorable. Is it just me, or is this a transition that a lot of fic writers went through? Maybe a little advice

I am not going to be much help to you, as I have "issues" with TenII, but I did once try to write him as a way to get to know him and failed just miserably. I do think that there's a bit of transition that happens. He *is* a new character, and he needs to get found, I think.
