A co-worker brought her 50 day old baby to work today. He's cute but just looks kinda tired and overwhelmed, poor thing. Also, he's 3,5 kg now, at 50 days. And I was thinking that if that's what a 3,5 kg baby looks like well, that's kinda big. Then I remembered that the boyfriend's mother told us he was born 4,5 kg. If that's what a 3,5 kg baby ( Read more... )

poor furbaby! I've never heard of a cat that liked his/her medication, though, so with Reena not using her claws? I'm impressed by her tolerance :):)

Is that human baby healthy? I thought babies were supposed to grow fatter after birth, not thinner.....

Human baby is fine. My writing skillz on the other hand...

I meant that co-worker's baby is normal since he was probably born smaller. By all indications, our baby will be much bigger at birth and after seeing what 3,5 kg of baby look like and thinking "Crap, that's big" I dread to imagine what my not-so-little snowflake will be like.

Oh, btw remember how we couldn't find Reena's off button on the scruff of her neck? The boyfriend found it! He pulls back and twists a bit and I can get the medicine in without any problem. I hope it's just technique and not that she respects male authority more...

Aww, poor Reena. I hope she feels better soon.

As for large human babies...yikes. Just hope the little one doesn't take after his father (or if he does, just ask for the good drugs and/or a C-Section).

Oh, no, I want him to be big :D As in long, not fat, of course. I really hope I haven't been making him obese in utero. And I'll push for a c-section if it is enormous, I am not one of those crusty, all natural mothers. "Gimme all the drugs and/or knock me out and cut him out" is my motto.

The boyfriend has been a champ with Reena. He found her vulcan pinch neck spot so he just presses and twists at the back of her neck and then we get all the medicine down her throat. She is not a happy kitty about it but not struggling and it only means she will get better sooner.
