Yay fic - and I at least haven't read it before! :-)

I was laways wondering whether Bond really kept track of the clicks or got confused and acted on instinct in the end.
If his keeping track leads to your last line, and thus adds a bit of vengefulness from Bond, all the better.

Oh I think he knew very well how many clicks -- you could actually see in his face that he was mentally counting and knew when it was going off.

Also it's quite fitting that it's THREE clicks -- just like the 3 minutes.

I enjoyed this quite a bit -- the tension works very well and the last line is very fitting.

One small correction - detonatives should be detonators.

I think i read about the 3 clicks in the movie script that some wonderful person has made and put online somewhere...always so helpful for these details.

:) Well, his instincts are sharp, actually sharper than most human beings could have! Still, my guess is he's counting by the way he stares at the pen. And yes, that led to the last line. I wanted to have a link back to teh scene at Archangel'sk.
