I did not know that! I will edit you in. Man, is it just me, or has formatting on LJ become totally crazy? My mind is reeling from trying to make it look the way I want it to, and I have to run to the doctor for an appointment I am dreading.

Yes, I live in an older and what you might call "economically diverse" neighborhood--within a mile of our house we have both govt-subsidized housing and multi-million dollar mansions. It was very cool yesterday at my polling place to see so many AA people--I have been voting there for 30+ years and have never seen such a turn-out.

I like to think of the U.S. as a place where we are all related not by ethnic or tribal origin but by a set of ideas--ideas that we got from y'all in England! However long it takes, those ideas *will* manifest, sooner or later.
