Honest opinions meme

I'm disappointed; none of you asked anything really wanky, though I'd have been happy to tell the truth. I did consider cheating and adding the questions that would prompt the rants I really want to write, but that wouldn't really be in the spirit of it. (Free opinion, though: if Torchwood hadn't had a Who connection, I'd have given up on it in ( Read more... )

oh, i must have missed the questions post! dang. i'm not sure what i would have asked but surely i could have come up with something rant-provoking.

meanwhile i just have to say how much i love you for calling the earth reptiles, "earth reptiles". LOOOOVE. i always want an episode set in the future that mentions that humans and earth reptiles coexist relatively peacefully. and much as i want the rumours to be true i am also afeard because even if they got someone awesome to write it instead of chibnall they'd probably make the earth reptiles villains. sigh.

The desire to lose friends and alienate people, obviously.

HA! This is more or less the same answer I would give, not that anyone will ask me.

I can't say I approve of everything on who_anon, but I don't approve of everything in fandom, either. I'm sorry you're dealing with a few really unpleasant people, who seem to expect sunshine while blocking the sun with their ass.

"I just love that people come up with all this stuff all the time."

I sometimes think many of you could adapt your work for publication, but I'm not going to complain about reading it for free. :)

who_anon scares me a bit. I like to check in every so often to see what wank is erupting in fandom so that I can continue to avoid it. hee! However, I've mostly avoided going there since a small incident that made me blink like "WTF? Who posted that at me?" -- I accidentally posted logged-in and fixed it quickly, but someone apparently saw the non-anon post and proclaimed that I never post anything positive. It freaked me a little. Was it because I'm Old School and have no great love of New Who? Yeah, then, I guess I say nothing positive about New Who, but I post positively about what I do like. Also, unlike the 1990s, I steer clear of flamewars, so at least I can't be blamed for massive wankfests ( ... )

Agreed on the meme re signal-to-noise. It's what doctorwho isn't, and while it's as imperfect, I find the anon aspect makes up for a lot of that (for the listening out of context reasons you mention). I ended up reluctantly defriending someone this week over it, which is frustrating, but...eh. Just as you'd rather not have someone on your flist who is massively anti, I'm assuming someone massively anti would rather not have me on their flist. Sigh, though. And thank fuck for people in fandom such as yourself who still have any patience left at all. :D ( ... )
