I toured JPL in October and we got to see a replica of the next generation rover. Shore up your heart; Spirit is dying, but innovation and rebirth continue.
And I see that other workhorses such as Cassini are still soldiering on: the jokes were inevitable in the article on the Saturnian moon Prometheus, but I'd be intrigued to know the why and wherefore of that knobbly celestial object.
