Notes: I originally wrote this for the drabble 'Memory' and realised it was way too long, so I cut it for the challenge, but preserved the original here!
‘So how did you two meet?’
Ginny laughed. It was loud. Harry grinned and looked at her. She was on the floor. Should she be on the floor?
He had had too much champagne.
Harry picked Ginny up off the floor and turned to answer the couple, but they had gone.
‘More champagne,’ Ginny announced, looking almost puzzled, and stumbled off toward the bar.
‘Woah there, maybe you want to take off your heels,’ said the only slightly more sober Harry.
‘Mr. and Mrs. Potter!’ said a voice. The voice belonged to a woman who looked vaguely familiar.
‘Hello,’ said Harry, trying not to giggle, while Ginny next to him was not so successful.
‘It’s been a while!’ she announced. ‘How’s your family?’
‘Oh…you know,’ Harry said vaguely, while Ginny erupted into silent laughter beside him.
How many children do you have now?’ she asked.
Harry and Ginny looked at each other in horror; neither could remember.
All the woman got in response was laughter.
