I may be a little bias because I want you to be in the city, but I think that you should go to SVA. Besides, it sounds like you want to go there more anyway.

hey alli its emma... if i were you i'd go for mica... living in any city is really expensive (rent/food/general cost of living) and usually any school loans/grants dont cover that so it comes out of your pocket not your parents/the school's/uncle sam's. there is also something to be said about having at least a year of the traditional college experience (dorms etc)...esp. since going to mica means you'd be surrounded by like-minded people. you can live the rest of your life in the city and/or if you don't like mica you can easily transfer to sva or even to pratt (its way easier to get accepted places as a transfer). i have a feeling you'll probably dismiss everything i've said but whatever, i've been through making the wrong decision and wasting way too much time and money. good luck with it all though.
this is anonymous cos if you knew who it was, whatever i wrote would be irrelevant
but my step sister goes to sva, and she loves it. she looked at mica but decided that the culture and vibrancy of the city would be wayy more inspiring for her than maryland.
that is the kind of comment i needed to hear. i agree that the city is where i need to be. but i am just nervous that i may get overwhelmed and not be able to actually do art.
but thank you for your comment.
i will keep everyone updated when i make my decision.
