So after hearing back from the BrGr folks that they are now hand forming their angus patties, and receiving a coupon from them (which I somehow, magically lost while in the restaurant) we went back to try out the new patties. I ordered, for directness of comparison, the "Average Joe."  Again, to my dismay, we got the 'pink or not-pink' spiel. Again ( Read more... )

The lackluster milkshake broke my heart. The first time we went, they managed to make the best milkshake I'd ever had. I hate to think that was a fluke.

we were there tonight. nlanza says his burger was definitely better than last time; he ordered it medium rare and it turned up medium rare. Mine (which I ordered medium well) had a little bit of pink in it, which is fine, but was kind of -- soft. Like, no brown crust on the burger, which is odd, and it did taste underseasoned.

The bun & toppings were fantastic, though, and our milkshakes (an alcoholic one for the adults, a chocolate shake for the baby) were awesome.

Oh yeah, the buns and toppings are always fresh and great tasting. As for the shake, we got a "Dude Abides" shake. It tasted fine, it just needed one more scoop of ice cream and 1/3 cup less milk. That's all. It was a "hot" day, so I figured it was also melting faster than usual.

The thing that I don't understand with the ground beef is this: If I do nothing more than buy plain-vanilla 80/20 ground chuck at Giant Eagle, form it into patties and grill it over a hot charcoal grill, maybe with some mesquite chips added to the fire for shits and giggles, what I get out tastes noticeably better than what the patties on their Angus burgers. Oh well. The salmon and veggie burgers were both fantastic options, and I have yet to try the -- never mind. I was gonna say that pork burger, but I went to spell check myself with their online menu and found that they're not serving it any more.
