Character Information
Name: Darcy Lewis
Fandom: Thor (Movie-Verse)
Timeline Summary: After the Bifrost is destroyed
Background: here
There is not much known about Darcy. We know she's a student at Culver University in New Mexico. She's a political science major and was the only applicant for the internship with Jane Foster. I disagree with the link above, saying she simply 'tags along' with Jane and Dr. Selvig. She's as invested in Thor's arrival and the shenanigans that follow. If she didn't care, she would have gone home and did college student-y things. Like..study or write a paper.
Personality: Our first impression of Darcy Lewis is that she is totally, completely, utterly bored waiting in Jane's van in the middle of nowhere. Our second impression is that she's got an itchy trigger finger. There's more to her than that. Yes, granted, Darcy does have a predilection towards the use of her taser. But, to be fair, it is an extremely handy instrument. And she is damn good at it. And not afraid to say it. But her use of the taser is a sign of one of the many aspects of her personality. While Erik Selvig and Jane Foster are distracted by the strange, drunk man's arrival and the strange markings on the ground-- respectively, Darcy watches him. When he looks as if he's going to become belligerent-- boom! Out comes the taser, showing that when things get tense, she's quick to action. Darcy may not always be right all the time, but she doesn't care. She goes with her gut instinct. And, sure, that might cause some trouble but Darcy is only human. She's flawed and she occasionally gets stuff wrong (myeu-meh), but she doesn't let it bother her.

When Darcy signed up to intern with Jane Foster, both women knew that she wasn't going to know much about particle physics or astrophysics, in which Jane specializes in. So Darcy often doesn't understand what Jane and Dr. Selvig are talking about. She doesn't seem embarrassed or disheartened by this at all. She does her best to help Jane and if she just so happens to have a reference or some scientific term fly over her head, so be it. Darcy is there to assist in any way she can. She may not fully understand what the heck Dr. Selvig and Jane are talking She'll roll with the punches. It's worth the six college credits, not worrying about having to know what an Einstein-Rosen bridge is. Besides, Jane would just tell her. When there is an obvious question, Darcy is the one to answer it. It's not planned or expected, but if a question needs asking, Darcy is the one to do it. When she does need to know what's going on, she has no qualms in asking. But, all is not completely lost. Darcy isn't a total idiot. Only when it comes to the fancy, scientific-y part of space. Far from it. Darcy is, in fact, very intelligent-- it just depends on the subject. Astrophysics-- no. Political Science-- yes. She isn't a genius, but she does have the occasional nugget of wisdom relevant to the conversation to whip out and surprise those around her.

Beneath the snark and the witty comments lies a truly caring person. When Jane's equipment is being taken away by S.H.I.E.L.D., Darcy shows obvious concern, reaching out for Jane's arm to comfort her. Darcy understands how much time and effort Jane puts into her work and feels terrible that they are powerless to stop S.H.I.E.L.D. from taking her life's work. But Darcy is there to show that she cares, she understands. And that she will do her best to help Jane, despite the troubling situation. When that giant metal furnance demon thing was approaching, and the town in danger, Darcy joins the others in working on moving all the innocent people out of harm's way. Even though she, Jane, and Erik are only human, they all do what they can to save the townspeople.Darcy is also quite obvious with her feelings. If she's bored, she'll say it. If she thinks the strange, blonde, giant man is attractive, she will totally offer to perform CPR. If she's upset about the loss of her iPod, she will bemoan its removal from her things like she lost a limb.
Powers, Skills, and Abilities: No powers to speak of. One might say she's extremely talented in the tasering department.

First Person: [The communication device switches on and there's the soft rustle of clothing. Someone's getting dressed.] So, I woke up in this hospital.

[The voice-- female, maybe early twenties-- sounds far away, but not exactly distracted.] But I don't remember getting hurt. I don't even feel sore anywhere.

Must be some awesome meds they've got me on. They gave me a phone, too? Sweet. Bonus. [There's more rustling, then finally the low purr of a zipper being...zipped up.]

Soooo...[The voice is closer as if the speaker's picked up the device.] Anyone mind telling me why I'm here? I mean, you don't get taken to the hospital for nothing. Waste of time. And money. So much money.

[A pause.] Also, does this thing do Facebook?
Third Person: "Thank you, come again!"

"Sure hope I don't have to, but thanks!" Darcy tossed over her shoulder as she exited the retailer whose sign suggest they had the greatest deals. She dug into the clear plastic bag, mumbling to herself. "No, I'm not gonna do the stupid survey, I just want my-- aha!" Her fingers closed around the item at the bottom left-hand corner of the bag. She removed the plastic container and tossed the sack into a nearby trash can. Head down, completely focused on her brand new, 160 GB silver iPod Classic, the brunette didn't notice the car intenting to pull into the spot next to hers. She was far too busy trying to get between the plastic container and the clear tape to open the box, than to deal with complete strangers.

Jane had gotten her equipment back, not a scratch on a single piece. Erik had gotten his laptop back. Easy peasy. Not a single file removed. But did Darcy get her iPod back? No. It'd gotten 'misplaced'. Agent Coulson had to request his superior if it was possible to reimburse Darcy, at her request. Her...quite loud, animated request. Agent Coulson's boss had agreed and they'd given her a check for three hundred dollars, stating that if the previously stated amount wasn't enough, perhaps she should try Wal-Mart. Darcy insisted that three hundred was enough and she couldn't have left the workshop faster if she had wings. Or Myeu-meh. Or however Thor pronounced it. It hadn't taken her long to find the iPod she wanted. She didn't need fancy slipcovers or special headphones. The earbuds that came with were good enough for her.

Once in Jane's van, Darcy let out a little exclamation of triumph when she got the case open. Her cell phone started going off and Darcy dug into her bag, pulling it free. "Yellow?"

"Darcy, can I have my van back yet? I need to get some things from the hardware store."

"Yes, Jane. I did get the iPod I wanted. Thank you for being so concerned for my happiness."

"I'm real happy for you, Darce. But I really need to go to Joe's."

"Okay, fine. I'll be there in twenty."

Hanging up, Darcy dropped her phone back into her bag. Turning the engine over, she glanced to the half-opened iPod package. It was going to take her a while to get her new baby all set up.

Oh, well. It's not like she needed sleep. She was a college student. She lived off of coffee and Red Bull. "iTunes, here I come."
