That you are thinking about your part in relationships with other people and that you wish to connect with people in a real way is evidence enough you are on your way to achieving those things. I am not sure you have to put other people first, and yourself second to get there. It's like sharing - you give other people a turn and you take a turn and it works out fairly. What you put time into - grows.

I'll be your friend too - although I am not the most serious individual you will ever meet - I do have some expertise in very long relationships which you may like. Or, I am a professional screw off and I will make you laugh sometimes. Actually I write books- but who cares about that at a time like this.
