a few questions though...

how long have they been on the boat now?

when Frank asked, was it the little boy or Gerard that replied?

Frank looks up and around for the man on the train, a retreating back with longish hair and a folder of something under their arm is all he sees.

Is that Gerard walking away? If so how did he get onto the Second Class deck? You say that 'the man he was looking for is a few decks below', so I can't figure out who was walking away...

They've been on the boat a few days like three maybe.

It was the little boy who answered him.

Lol the deck they're on is the second class one it's open to second third and fourth Gerard is second maybe third depending really but Frank is first he's a gentleman or the equivalent of anywho. Gerard is the one walking away and he walks pretty fast so he's already back in his room by the time Frank is back in his so the 'man he was looking for is a few decks below' is really a few decks below.
